As a leader in Catholic education, it is imperative to have an entry plan in place to guide an effective and smooth transition into a new role. Here is an outline of how I expect to begin my journey in leadership.
First 10 days:
- Meet with all staff to guage
- a) values among staff
- b) what is believed to be working
- c) what is believed to not be working
- d) what initiatives have already been started that need to continue
First 30 days:
- Meet with all students in classrooms, at busses, and outside on school yard
- Host at least one outreach event to meet parents
- Implement relationship building initiative across the staff
First 60 days:
- Review school data with teachers and pair it with best practices based on BEIP
- As a collective staff, commit to one major curriculum-focused goal
- As a collective staff, commit to one major well-being / equity focused goal rooted in our Catholic faith
First 100 days
- Collect and review data to continue / alter practices related to collective goals
- Establish and follow through on long-term norms for the school based on the common good of the students, parents, staff, and community at large

Part of being an effective leader is being able to harness the power of technology for today’s modern world. I aim to be active, rather than passive, in my use of technology. Though we need protocols and limits in place to keep our students, staff, and community safe, the advantages of engaging are limitless.
